Ice Treasures

Mya LOVES to play with water, whether its in the bath, a pool, or a puddle the kid will splash forever. Based on her interest with water I decided to introduce ice to her. We have talked about hot and cold before, but our ice treasures really helped her to learn with a more hands on approach. I froze some of her toys in a popsicle container, then filled bowls with warm water and presented the ice treasures for her and her cousin to explore.

Our Ice Treasures

Unfrozen treasure!

Mya's face in the second photo is priceless!! Fun!

You and I seem to be thinking the same things at the same time a lot! I too am going to do a nature display (to replace our pathetic after-Christmas winter display) and have hot/cold with ice on my plans for February! It's funny how the kids are often doing the same things at the same time and love several of the same toys. Weird but cool! Oh, and by the way, Ty wants to stop by for snack...his favorite food is hummus!

this is such a great idea and a fun way for kids to learn the concept of water and ice!
