Mya's Nursery

One of the things I enjoyed most about getting ready for Mya's arrival was creating her nursery. I loved the look of pink and brown so thats what we went with. Seeing I was 9 months pregnant at the time, Pat had to do a lot of the work with help from my mom (although I was the director/interior designer). I'm happy every time I walk into her room, I love how it turned out! My Grandma R. made the curtains and my Grandpa H. made the change table originally for my brother in 1981 and it has gone through pretty much all the babies in the family right up to Mya. Again and again I'm reminded how fortunate Pat and I are to have our families so close - we, and Mya, are very lucky!

Right from day one I knew I didn't want a baby shower before Mya was born. For me it was more fun for everyone if there was a cute baby actually at the shower, which also takes the spotlight off me a little. We planned it for the second week in September, and it was perfect :)

Day One

Mya was born on August 17 2009 at 3:18 AM coming in at a solid 8 lbs 2 ounces and 19.25 inches long. I can definitely say that this was love at first site. Ever since it has been a whirlwind of family visits, laundry and sleepless nights.... and I wouldn't change it for anything.
